🚀 Ethereum Developers Set Deadlines for Upcoming Glamsterdam Upgrade

According to PANews, the 223rd Ethereum Execution Layer Core Developers Meeting (ACDE) outlined key deadlines for the upcoming Glamsterdam upgrade. Developers have set October 30 as the deadline for submitting EIP proposals, with the final scope of code changes to be confirmed by November 27.

A significant focus of the meeting was the Fusaka mainnet timeline. Ethereum Foundation coordinator Alex Stokes proposed December 3, 2025, for the Fusaka mainnet upgrade, with subsequent Blob Parameter Optimization (BPO) scheduled for December 9 and January 7, 2026. All execution layer client teams, including Geth, Nethermind, Reth, Besu, and Erigon, agreed on the feasibility of this timeline.

The Hoodi testnet is set to activate the Fusaka version on October 28, marking the final test upgrade before the mainnet launch. Meanwhile, the Holesky testnet is expected to close next week.

For the Glamsterdam upgrade, developers plan to launch a multi-client developer testnet to test the Block Access Lists (BALs) feature. Key deadlines include proposal submission by October 30, client team feedback by November 6, and final scope confirmation by November 27. The Ethereum Cat Herders team will hold open office hours on October 28 to assist EIP authors with proposal submissions.

In technical discussions, EF researcher Maria Silva presented two options to enhance Gas unit precision, with plans to convert related research into EIPs for consideration in the Glamsterdam upgrade. Additionally, EIP 8058 proposes a "deduplication discount" for developers deploying the same contract multiple times to reduce state bloat.

Proposals EIP 7667 and EIP 6873, both related to Verkle data structures, have been removed from consideration as they no longer align with the current roadmap.

Stokes emphasized that the core objective is to finalize the technical scope of Glamsterdam by the end of November, laying the groundwork for the mainnet upgrade by the end of the year.

🚀 Ethereum's Fusaka Hard Fork Scheduled for December Launch

According to BlockBeats, researchers from the Ethereum Foundation have officially set the date for the mainnet hard fork, codenamed 'Fusaka.' During a recent 'All Core Developers' call, it was announced that Fusaka will go live on December 3.

Developers have been targeting this date since at least mid-September. Fusaka was activated on the Hoodi testnet earlier this week, marking the final step towards its mainnet activation. Earlier this month, it was successfully deployed on the Holesky and Sepolia testnets.

The backward-compatible Fusaka hard fork will implement approximately a dozen Ethereum Improvement Proposals aimed at enhancing the sustainability, security, and scalability of the base chain and its surrounding layer-two ecosystem. Notably, Fusaka will introduce 'Peer Data Availability Sampling' (PeerDAS), a technology designed to simplify data access for validators. PeerDAS was initially planned for Ethereum's previous major upgrade in February, known as Pectra, but was delayed for further testing. Additionally, Fusaka will increase Ethereum's block gas limit from 30 million units to 150 million units, which is expected to rapidly double the data block capacity.

🚀 Leading Mining Pools Join Psy Protocol Testnet for Performance Evaluation

According to Odaily, four prominent mining pools and computing power ecosystems—F2Pool, GrandCroix, DePIN X Capital, and Codestream—have officially joined the Psy Protocol public testnet. These entities will participate with real computing power in network operations, transaction verification, and zero-knowledge proof aggregation, providing foundational support for performance and security testing before the mainnet launch.

Psy Protocol's internal benchmarking has demonstrated the capability to process over a million transactions per second (TPS). The protocol architecture allows users to generate transaction proofs on local devices, while miners verify and recursively aggregate zero-knowledge proofs. This approach decouples the verification burden from transaction volume, enabling horizontal scaling as more users participate concurrently.

Psy Protocol is a smart contract platform based on proof of useful work. By allowing users to generate transaction proofs and aggregate zero-knowledge proofs on-chain, Psy empowers developers to build large-scale Web3 applications and supports the AI agent economy.
