🚀 Ethereum's Privacy Infrastructure Key to Institutional Adoption, Says Expert

Ethereum Foundation's Institutional Privacy Task Force (IPTF) technical lead, Oskar Thoren, emphasized the importance of privacy as a foundational element of Ethereum's infrastructure at the EthCC[9] conference. According to Foresight News, Thoren highlighted that a major challenge for institutions entering the Ethereum ecosystem is balancing the protection of business strategies and transaction privacy with increasingly stringent regulatory compliance requirements. Without comprehensive end-to-end privacy protection, Ethereum's potential as a global settlement layer could be limited.

Thoren elaborated on the three main research areas of the Ethereum Privacy Preserving (PSE) team: Private Writes, Private Reads, and Private Proving. Private Writes aim to align the cost and convenience of private transactions with regular ones, utilizing technologies like Plasma for confidential asset transfers. Private Reads focus on addressing data leakage issues in services such as RPC, enabling institutions to interact with on-chain data without revealing identity or query intent. Private Proving seeks to enhance the efficiency of generating and verifying zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP), supporting complex applications like confidential DeFi and provable identity.

🚀 AI TRENDS | California Mandates AI Safeguards for State Contracts

California Governor Gavin Newsom has signed an executive order mandating that AI companies vying for state contracts demonstrate measures to prevent misuse and ensure privacy, security, and civil rights protection. According to NS3.AI, the directive instructs state agencies to develop procurement standards addressing illegal content generation, model bias, and civil rights risks. This initiative positions California in opposition to the Trump administration's efforts to establish national AI standards with reduced state-level regulation.

🚀 Ethereum's Kohaku Privacy Framework Advances with New Integrations

Vitalik Buterin and Ethereum Foundation researcher Nicolas Consigny unveiled the latest developments in the Kohaku privacy framework at the EthCC[9] conference. According to Foresight News, the update shifts focus from early integration of upper-layer privacy protocols to the integration of network, hardware, and light client layers.

Kohaku now directly integrates the Helios light client into the wallet SDK, allowing users to achieve native self-verification without relying on centralized RPC service providers like Infura and Alchemy. This integration cuts off centralized service providers from tracking user IPs and transaction behaviors. In terms of privacy reading, Kohaku introduces Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) and Oblivious Random Access Memory (ORAM) technologies, preventing external nodes from using traffic analysis to determine which accounts users are querying.

Additionally, Kohaku incorporates an automated privacy routing mechanism, generating independent and isolated address spaces for each DApp connected by users, effectively eliminating cross-application address associations. Nicolas Consigny revealed that a dedicated "Kohaku Cohort" has been established through the Ethereum Foundation to deeply embed the Kohaku framework into mainstream Ethereum clients.

🚀 Vitalik Buterin Proposes Localized AI Deployment Strategy for Enhanced Privacy and Security

Vitalik Buterin has outlined a strategy for deploying localized and private large language models (LLMs) by April 2026. According to Odaily, the plan emphasizes privacy, security, and autonomy, aiming to minimize the exposure of personal data to remote models and external services. The approach includes local inference, local file storage, and sandbox isolation to reduce risks of data leaks, model jailbreaks, and malicious content exploitation.

In terms of hardware, Buterin tested various configurations, including a laptop with an NVIDIA 5090 GPU, an AMD Ryzen AI Max Pro device with 128 GB unified memory, and DGX Spark setups. He utilized Qwen3.5 35B and 122B models for local inference, achieving approximately 90 tokens per second with the 5090 laptop, around 51 tokens per second with the AMD setup, and about 60 tokens per second with DGX Spark. Buterin expressed a preference for building local AI environments based on high-performance laptops, using tools like llama-server, llama-swap, and NixOS to establish the overall workflow.
