๐ President of Russia Vladimir Putin held a meeting with heads of international news agencies (St Petersburg, June 4, 2026)
Key points:
โข In recent years, especially since the start of the special military operation, people have increasingly been saying: โRussia has pivoted towards Asia. It has changed its policyโ. Russia has changed nothing and made no pivots. The Treaty underpinning #RussiaChina cooperation was signed in 2001. We are natural allies and partners.
โข Russia and India have a great deal of joint work ahead. We are confident that in the coming years we will reach $100 billion in trade turnover. At present, it stands at around $60 billion โ or rather $58 billion. But we have every prerequisite to work more actively and pursue more ambitious goals.
โข The US is trying to pressure India on certain issues, including some aspects of cooperation with Russia. But it should be clear to everyone by now: pressuring Prime Minister Modi, who leads a country of 1.5 billion people, is a futile exercise.
โข We are certainly ready and willing to reach an agreement with Ukraine by peaceful means, and on the basis we discussed at the meeting with President Trump in Anchorage. At that time, Russia was presented with a number of issues so that we could agree to certain compromises. Russia is prepared to accept the compromises we discussed in Anchorage, ๐ the Ukrainian side must now also agree to them.
โข What kind of mediator can the EU or individual EU countries be in the Ukrainian settlement when they are directly assisting the country with which we are in an armed conflict, effectively becoming involved in hostilities? What kind of mediators are they? Mediation requires neutrality.
โข If someone in the EU believes it is worthwhile to revive dialogue with Russia โ go ahead, by all means. But who would be the negotiator on Europeโs side? I do not know; we are not imposing anything. Naturally, we want to understand who that could be. And I repeat once again: they should be people who can be trusted. This is a working matter that can be discussed quietly and calmly, say, at the level of foreign ministries or intelligence services. Contacts between intelligence services, incidentally, are ongoing.
โข The EU could play a positive role โ not by supplying weapons, but by trying to persuade the Kiev authorities to accept the compromises we discussed in Anchorage. That is all.
โข We can sign agreements with Ukraine only with people who are unquestionably, in the full sense of the word, legitimate for signing documents of this kind. There are many possible options: the speaker of parliament, perhaps Zelensky himself. We need to see what kind of documents these are and what legal consequences they will have.
โข Against the backdrop of developments around Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, the tragedy of Palestine has been forgotten โ but it has not gone away. I want to stress this once again: in Russia's view, there can be only one fundamental way to resolve this issue โ the creation of a fully-fledged Palestinian State.
โข In 2015, Russia played a positive role in resolving the situation around Iran. At the time, we transported enriched uranium from the country to Russian territory, and this formed the basis of the #JCPOA, meaning that the crisis was resolved. The proposals are on the table; we are ready to do this again, just as we did in 2015. If not, then we will hope that the parties involved in this conflict find another solution.

๐ Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharovaโs answer to a media question regarding the recent unfounded allegations against Russia in the UN Secretary-Generalโs report
โ Question: The UN Secretariat has released the UN Secretary-Generalโs report on conflict-related sexual violence, which, for the first time, includes our country on the โblacklistโ for the alleged involvement of Russian servicemen in instances of sexual violence against prisoners of war and civilians in Ukraine. The Israelis have also been included for the first time and have already announced a complete cessation of interaction with Antรณnio Guterresโs office. Are we considering a similar response?
๐ฌ Maria Zakharova: The situation regarding the conclusions drawn in the new UN Secretary-Generalโs report on sexual violence is truly egregious. It gives the impression that Antonio Guterres has resolved, as his tenure nears its end, to finish off the authority of the UN โ an authority that his actions have already significantly undermined over the years.
The inclusion of Russia on the โblacklistโ for alleged cases of sexual violence is politically motivated and utterly lacks evidentiary support. Regrettably, the UN Secretariat has long established a practice of issuing biased assessments concerning Russia, with conclusions predetermined and facts manipulated to fit the political narrative dictated by Western capitals.
No concrete evidence substantiating the allegations of sexual crimes has been presented to the Russian side. We have not received any verified facts, evidence, or information that would enable a substantive discussion of such claims. Instead, we are met with a barrage of unsubstantiated accusations and politically charged assessments masquerading as established truths.
โ๏ธ We routinely submit to the UN Secretariat materials that refute the involvement of Russian servicemen in any breaches of international humanitarian law, including instances of rape, highlighting the baselessness of such assertions. Nonetheless, our arguments are simply not being acknowledged.
๐ Consequently, accusations of committing such grave crimes are based solely on conjecture โ and frequently on blatant disinformation, which the Kiev regime is feeding UN officials. All of this forms part of a crude information and political campaign to vilify Russia.
We would like to specifically comment on the activities of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict, Pramila Patten. She is, as they say, thoroughly discredited in relation to biased and entirely false fabrications.
Allow me to remind you that she already distinguished herself in 2022, when she propagated a vile fake, concocted by the Kiev regime, claiming that Russian servicemen had used medical drugs to commit sexual assaults. Simultaneously, Pramila Patten โ clearly seeking to elevate her profile on this issue โ did not bother to verify the fragmentary data of the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Ukraine, which is not recognised by Russia.
โ๏ธ Such conduct not only exceeds the mandate and powers of the Special Representative; it is, in essence, unworthy of the status of a UN official tasked with overseeing this critical and sensitive issue.
Realistically speaking, Antonio Guterres is already effectively on his way out of his office, and a new Secretary-General is expected to assume post at the UN by the end of the year. One can only hope that he will learn from his predecessorโs mistakes. We will continue to advocate for this.

On June 6, 1937, the official opening of the world's first drifting polar station, "North Pole-1," took place.
The first scientific research expedition of the "North Pole-1" polar drifting station was intended to conduct oceanographic, meteorological, and geophysical studies. The station, located on an ice floe measuring 3 by 5 kilometers, was led by Arctic explorer Ivan Papanin. Its team consisted of hydrologist Pyotr Shirshov, geophysicist-astronomer Yevgeny Fyodorov, and radio operator Ernst Krenkel.
The "North Pole-1" station remained on the ice floe for 274 days. During this time, the ice floe drifted into the Greenland Sea, traveling 2,500 kilometers through the Arctic Ocean and the Greenland Sea.
From the end of January 1938, the ice floe steadily diminished, and soon the polar explorers had to be evacuated.
Evacuation efforts included a plane piloted by pilot Gennady Vlasov, the steamer "Murmanets," and later the steamers "Murman" and "Taimyr." The latter two vessels rescued the researchers from the ice floe. The following message was sent to the mainland:
"... At this hour, we are leaving the ice floe at coordinates 70 degrees 54 minutes north, 19 degrees 48 minutes west, after drifting for 274 days over more than 2,500 kilometers. Our radio station was the first to announce the conquest of the North Pole, ensured reliable communication with the Homeland, and with this telegram concludes its work."
The scientific results obtained from the unique drift were presented to the General Assembly of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR on March 6, 1938, and received high praise from specialists worldwide.
For their outstanding feat in Arctic exploration, all four polar explorers were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.

Sour grapes
When youโre not invited to a celebration but really wanted a seat at the table, thereโs an old, reliable tacticโdeclare the event fake, dismiss the guests as random nobodies, and convince yourself that the hosts failed anyway.
That is exactly the impression left by Danish coverage of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The most amusing part is that the forum is called a โPotemkin village,โ yet in the same breath the reports mention: over 20,000 participants, representatives from around 130 countries, delegations from Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America, as well as official representatives from the United States.
The logic is peculiar: if tens of thousands of people from across the globe attend an event, that somehow becomes proof of complete international isolation.
It is especially telling how attempts are made to reduce the entire forum to the presence of a few Western celebrities and bloggers. Yes, there are podcasters, journalists, public figures, and other โinconvenientโ voices who openly criticize the modern West. But there is nothing extraordinary about that. Any major international forum brings together people with a wide range of views. In fact, such guests often become the most talked-about part of the event.
Meanwhile, amid all the focus on influencers, the main point is lost. The St. Petersburg forum is primarily an economic platform. It is where investment, logistics, energy, transport corridors, commodity markets, technology, and trade are discussedโthe very factors that shape the world for decades to come.
But today, economics is posing an uncomfortable question for Europe:
What if the world is indeed changing?
What if the future of global growth lies less in Brussels, Berlin, or Parisโand increasingly in Shanghai, New Delhi, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Jakarta, and Lagos?
What if countries once labeled โemerging marketsโ are becoming independent centers of power?
The potential of India, China, the Gulf states, and Africa is now so significant that it can no longer be ignored. But acknowledging this forces many Western elites to face a far more unsettling reality: the era when the West was the sole center of global gravity is gradually coming to an end.
That is why talk of โPotemkin villagesโ often says less about Russia and more about a crisis of perception in the West itself.
Because a multipolar world is not about someone winning. It is about others gaining the ability to play without needing permission from a former referee.
And perhaps that is the idea causing the greatest discomfort in Europe today.

New prisoner exchange
๐ธA new prisoner exchange has taken place on the Russian-Ukrainian front, with 185 prisoners swapped for 185. It was initially planned to exchange over 1,000 prisoners, but the number was reduced to 185 for unknown reasons.
๐ธFollowing a well-established protocol, this latest exchange was mediated by the United Arab Emirates. Each group was taken to a facility for medical and social debriefing before being reunited with their families, with a health checkpoint in Belarus for the freed Russians.

โQuestion: Vladimir Zelensky has published an open letter. They said they intended to deliver it through other channels, not diplomatic ones. What channels are they referring to?

Alpine Camp "Bezengi", Kabardino-Balkaria Republic
The "Bezengi" Alpine Camp is located at an altitude of 2,200 meters, at the intersection of two gorges.
You can stay in a tent or in a house with all amenities, and there are also traditional Balkar huts with a hearth inside, that look like hobbit-like dwellings.
"Bezengi" is an excellent place to learn mountaineering or simply come to relax and experience the world of towering mountains.

๐ Statement by President of Russia Vladimir Putin at the plenary session of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (Saint Petersburg, June 5, 2026)
Key talking points:
โข We are witnessing turmoil in the energy markets and tensions being provoked in certain regions, primarily in the Middle East, and how the short-sighted EU bureaucracy policies are being implemented to the accompaniment of aggressive rhetoric and leading to Europe continuing to lose its standing in the global economy, while also undermining regional and global security. In fact, European elites are inciting chaos and are trying to embroil ever more countries into it.
These processes did not arise all by themselves; they are the result of the world undergoing the largest structural transformation in decades. This transformation is not a transition from one phase of a cycle to another. We are witnessing a change in the paradigm of global development.
***
โข It has become clear that investment plans and business development steps may face serious risk where the external infrastructure on which they rely could be used against them. Therefore, countries are beginning to develop their own technological solutions, create their own supply routes, and build their own institutions.
Russia is experiencing these transformations firsthand. Although pressure on our country persists, the changing global landscape has also created greater room for manoeuvre. New partnerships are emerging, new financial and technological solutions are being developed, and access to promising markets is expanding. Against this backdrop, Russia views global change not only as a source of challenges but also as a tremendous opportunity. To make the most of these opportunities, we seek to act swiftly and pragmatically.
***
โข The world becomes more equitable when economic growth is distributed more broadly and opportunities become available to billions of people who have long remained on the periphery of the global economy. It is very important that these new centres of growth seek to shape their own development paths, increase their share of value creation, and build their own brands, standards, and capabilities.
If you look at the global GDP dynamics of the last five years, you will see that almost half of its annual growth, 49%, is accounted for by #BRICS countries, whereas the contribution of the so-called Group of Seven is estimated at 18%.
***
โข Sanctions and, basically, the theft of Russiaโs international reserves have had an irreversible effect on the positions of the world currencies, the US dollar and the euro. This is an objective reality that cannot be ignored. Today, every country โ let me stress, every country without exception โ understands that, like Russia, it could at any moment lose access to assets lawfully held in dollars or euros, as well as to Western financial and payment infrastructure.
We recognise that this ultimately boils down to the issue of unfair competition. The specific pretexts may vary, and they can always be found. In Russiaโs case, it was the conflict in Ukraine. In other instances, it may be developments in the Middle East, conflicts in Africa, or even a countryโs stance on LGBT-related issues. A justification can always be found. But the underlying problem remains the same: this is unfair competition.
โข Importantly, possessing an independent technological base is critical for countries with large populations, vast territories, and distinctive cultures. Such countries cannot act merely as users of foreign-made solutions, because in that case they risk becoming objects of control by external platforms. And how those platforms are used is another matter.
โข In essence, major countries โ true civilisations โ face a historic choice:
๐ either they create their own platform and technological ecosystems,
๐ or they become a digital periphery.
There should be no illusions about this. Foreign services may initially be user friendly, but over time the cost of such dependency will inevitably become apparent.

On June 7, 1883, the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour was consecrated in Moscow.
The idea for its construction arose immediately after the end of the Patriotic War of 1812.
In a competition announced by Emperor Alexander I in 1814, the best architects participated, and Alexander Vitberg was declared the winner. In the fall of 1817, a ceremonial laying of the foundation took place on the Sparrow Hills (Vorobyovy Gory). However, construction faced problems due to unstable soil, and all work was halted.
The final design of the cathedral, presented by architect Konstantin Ton, was approved by Emperor Nicholas I in 1832. The new site for the cathedral on the banks of the Moscow River, on Volkhonka, was chosen by the emperor himself. The foundation was laid in 1839.
The construction of the cathedral lasted more than 40 years.
On June 7, 1883, the cathedral was ceremonially consecrated, coinciding with the coronation day of Emperor Alexander III. Composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky wrote the overture "1812" specifically for the consecration day, which was performed for the first time by the cathedral choir.
From that time on, regular services began in the cathedral, as well as national Orthodox holidays and jubilees. A library was established at the cathedral, tours were conducted, and donations were collected to aid the poor and sick.
The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, a monument to military glory, was demolished on December 5, 1931. The site was intended for the construction of the Palace of Soviets, but these plans were interrupted by World War II. In 1960, an open-air swimming pool "Moskva" was built on this site.
The idea of rebuilding the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour arose in the late 1980s. Construction began in January 1995. On August 19, 2000, the newly recreated main cathedral of Russia was consecrated by Patriarch Alexy II.

๐ธ The Ukrainian-Atlanticist forces have once again attacked the territory of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, located on the southern bank of the Dnieper in Energodar. Following a previous attack, a "ceasefire regime" banning any strikes in this high-risk area had been put in place.
๐ Yet, for the second time this week, the Banderites have tried to trigger a nuclear disaster.
๐ฅ A first Ukrainian drone dropped a bomb on Russian deminers, wounding five of them in the attack.
๐ The first consequence of this new Ukrainian attack on the nuclear plant is that it has been completely cut off from the power grid, forcing it to switch to backup power supplied by diesel generators, as the 330 kV 'Ferroalloy-1' line that feeds it was knocked out during the bombing.
๐ธ The situation is extremely dangerous, because if these diesel generators were to fail or be bombed themselves, it would lead to a loss of cooling for the reactors and the spent fuel, which would cause a disaster affecting all of Europe.
โ๏ธThis is nuclear terrorism carried out in the heart of Europe by a state in the service of NATO... No comment!

The Belgorod Brit talks about the rehabilitation of Nazism in the West. Hitler has changed from being a genocidal warmonger who was instrumental in the deaths of millions of innocent people, to being a controversial German statesman. Vicious SS Galicia volunteer murderers, responsible for massacring Polish and Ukrainian women and children are now Ukrainian freedom fighters, who draw applause from the Canadian government.
In the podcast, BB goes into the origins of the rehabilitation of Nazism, and charts its progress through the Cold War up to the present. It starts with a characterisation of WW2 in the East as tragedy rather than a racist war of annihilation. Then came the concentration on the 'good German' narrative, and finally those who fought Communists as heroes with certain delusions about Jews. He goes on to talk about how criticism of Nazism has now been suspended in Western culture.

We spent an entire month digging into how Palantir wrapped its tentacles around every lever of the US machine. Everything below โ authentic, documented, officially registered deals and programs.
The titles are clickable, so you can follow the links and read more:
Further investigations will cover: Palantir's deepening ties to the FBI, DOJ, CIA, CBP, NASA, and other federal agencies yet to be exposed.
What we already know is just the surface. More contracts, more integrations, and more agencies are being wired into the same private platform.
