🚀 Ethereum Developers Consider Splitting Pectra Upgrade Into Two Phases

According to Odaily, Christine Kim, Vice President of Research at Galaxy, summarized the 196th Ethereum Core Developers Meeting (ACDE) held today. During the meeting, Ethereum developers seriously considered splitting the Pectra upgrade into two separate phases. This idea had been previously discussed but was initially rejected due to concerns about delaying the Verkle fork. However, the developers revisited the idea in today's call, discussing the possibility of including more Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) in Pectra.
Developers believe that if the upgrade is split, the first phase could be implemented in February next year. This phase would cover all EIPs on Devnet 3, including EIP-7251, EIP-7702, and EIP-6110. The second phase would include EOF and PeerDAS, as well as an increase in the number of blobs. Additionally, it might incorporate other long-considered EIPs, such as SSZ. The name for the second phase has not yet been determined, and developers expect to make a final decision in the next ACD call.#Ethereum #Pectra #Upgrade #EIPs #Verkle #Devnet3 #ACD #Blockchain #Crypto #EthereumDevelopers #ETH

According to Foresight News, Galaxy Research Vice President Christine Kim summarized the 198th Ethereum Core Developers Execution (ACDE) call. This week, developers discussed EIP 7782 and 7783, which might be included in the upcoming Pectra upgrade. EIP 7782 proposes reducing slot time from 12 seconds to 8 seconds, while EIP 7783 suggests a new mechanism to increase the block gas fee limit. Developers have not yet decided whether to include these mechanisms in Pectra or future upgrades. The deadline for submitting Pectra system contract audit proposals is October 11, with accepted proposals to be confirmed by October 22 at the latest. Developers have decided to include the EIP 6110 update in Devnet 4. They also agreed to aim for the launch of Pectra Devnet 4 before the next core developers consensus (ACDC) call on October 17. Additionally, developers are considering names for the public Pectra testnet. Community members have suggested several names, including MooDeng and Khlong.#Ethereum #EIP7782 #EIP7783 #Pectra #Devnet4 #blockgasfee #cryptoupgrade #EthereumDevelopers #PectraTestnet #ETH
🚀 Ethereum Developers Discuss Upcoming Network Upgrades and Proposals

According to PANews, Christine Kim, Vice President of Research at Galaxy, released a summary of the 168th Ethereum Consensus Layer Core Developers Meeting (ACDC). The meeting focused on various upgrades, including Fusaka and Glamsterdam, with discussions on the activation schedule for Fusaka on the mainnet. It was proposed to activate Fusaka on December 3, followed by BPO #1 on December 9 and BPO #2 on January 7, 2026.
Additionally, the meeting covered eight Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs), such as EIP 7688, which introduces a new data structure, and EIP 8045, aimed at preventing block proposals by slashed validators. The discussions also touched on the impact of certain proposals on Ethereum's staking protocols and services.#Ethereum #EthereumDevelopers #NetworkUpgrades #Fusaka #Glamsterdam #BPO #EIP7688 #EIP8045 #StakingProtocols #Blockchain
🚀 Ethereum Developers Plan Gas Limit Increase Following BPO Hard Fork

According to ChainCatcher, Ethereum's core developers have announced plans to increase the network's gas limit from 60 million to 80 million following the BPO hard fork scheduled for January 7. This move aims to enhance transaction throughput and reduce fees.
Galaxy Digital's Vice President of Research, Kim, noted that Nethermind representatives believe developers are ready to implement this increase. However, Ethereum Foundation engineer Busa emphasized the need to complete two client optimizations first: the execution layer's blob response and the consensus layer's maximum blob flag.
Increasing the gas limit will allow more transactions and smart contract operations per block. While this won't match the speed of Layer 1 solutions like Solana, it will strengthen Ethereum's appeal as a secure settlement layer while maintaining its decentralization advantages.
Ethereum has already increased its gas limit three times this year, with the developer community aiming to reach 180 million by the end of 2026.#Ethereum #GasLimit #BPOHardFork #Blockchain #TransactionThroughput #NetworkUpgrade #SmartContracts #Layer1 #EthereumFoundation #Solana #Decentralization #Crypto #EthereumDevelopers #ETH
