According to BlockBeats, the European Union is set to collaborate with the United States on a new plan to advance the next phase of their trade agreement. This initiative aims to set aside Washington's proposal, which calls for the EU to revoke certain regulatory measures that have long been criticized by U.S. President Donald Trump. Insiders reveal that the current strategy involves creating a 'checklist' to ensure the agreement remains on track and progresses within the parameters established by both parties earlier this summer.
Earlier reports indicated that Washington had requested Brussels to amend several laws related to technology, digital, and corporate environments. EU officials deemed these demands too stringent to serve as a starting point for negotiations. While the EU is open to discussing these issues and addressing concerns, it remains firm on maintaining its regulatory autonomy. Following discussions between EU Trade Commissioner Maroลก ล efฤoviฤ and U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai last weekend, Brussels decided to shelve these demands and focus on developing a new checklist.#EUUS #TradeAgreement #RegulatoryAutonomy #Checklist #MarosSefcovic #KatherineTai #Brussels #Washington #TechnologyPolicy #DigitalPolicy #EUTradePolicy #USTradePolicy
