🚀 Arbitrum Developers Release Mandatory Nitro v3.2.0 Upgrade

According to Odaily, Arbitrum developers have announced the release of Arbitrum Nitro v3.2.0, which is now available at offchainlabs/nitronode:v3.2.0-f847be0. This new version includes stability fixes and other changes but does not incorporate any configuration changes from v3.1.2. Users operating nodes on Arbitrum One, Nova, or Sepolia are required to upgrade to Nitro v3.2.0 to avoid downtime. This upgrade is mandatory and should be executed immediately. Users are advised to complete the upgrade within 48 hours, by September 24 at 10:00 UTC+8, to prevent node shutdowns. Additionally, RaaS providers running chains on ArbOS 31 should upgrade to Nitro v3.2.0 and ArbOS 32 without delay.

🚀 Bitlayer Releases Update to Address Potential DoS Attack Vulnerability

According to Foresight News, Bitlayer, a native Bitcoin Layer 2 project, has released a maintenance update, version v1.1.6. This update aims to address a vulnerability that could potentially lead to a Denial-of-Service (DoS) attack through malicious peer-to-peer (P2P) messages. The development team has strongly recommended that all nodes upgrade to this latest version as soon as possible to mitigate any risks associated with this issue.

The update is part of Bitlayer's ongoing efforts to enhance the security and stability of its platform. By addressing this specific vulnerability, the team aims to prevent any disruptions that could be caused by malicious actors exploiting the P2P messaging system. This proactive approach underscores the importance of maintaining robust security measures in blockchain networks, where vulnerabilities can have significant impacts on the network's functionality and user trust.

Node operators are advised to follow the official guidelines provided by Bitlayer for the upgrade process. Ensuring that all nodes are running the latest version is crucial for maintaining the integrity and performance of the network. The Bitlayer team continues to monitor the situation and is committed to providing further updates and support as needed to ensure the security of its users and the broader Bitcoin ecosystem.

🚀 Dogecoin Network Disruption Reported by Bitcoin Sidechain Co-Founder

According to BlockBeats, Andreas Kohl, co-founder of the Bitcoin sidechain Sequentia, has claimed responsibility for disrupting 69% of the Dogecoin network. Kohl stated that he executed this operation using an old laptop from El Salvador, exploiting a vulnerability discovered by researcher Tobias Ruck, which led to the crashing of nodes.

Data from Blockchair indicates that prior to the exploitation of this vulnerability, Dogecoin had 647 active nodes. As of the time of writing, the number of active nodes has decreased to 315. This significant reduction in active nodes highlights the impact of the vulnerability on the Dogecoin network's stability and functionality. The incident underscores the importance of network security and the potential risks posed by vulnerabilities within blockchain systems.

The revelation of this disruption raises concerns about the resilience of decentralized networks and the need for continuous monitoring and improvement of security measures. The Dogecoin community and developers may need to address these vulnerabilities to prevent future disruptions and ensure the network's integrity. This incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by blockchain networks in maintaining security and reliability.
