🚀 Hong Kong Exchange Scam Alert: Fake Website Targets Users

According to Odaily, a user reported that their family member fell victim to a scam involving a fake 'Hong Kong Exchange' website. Initially, they were able to withdraw funds successfully four times, each time amounting to 100 yuan. However, the system later demanded a tax payment to continue withdrawals, threatening to freeze the account if the tax was not paid. The victim has since reported the incident to the police.

Upon investigation, it was found that the fraudulent webpage is currently inaccessible. In response to such impersonation scams, the official Hong Kong Exchange website has issued a warning. The exchange has identified over 400 suspicious websites, although a fake site named 'Hong Kong Stablecoin Exchange (HSEX)' remains accessible. This site closely mimics legitimate trading platforms, displaying cryptocurrency and virtual currency market trends and offering deposit and withdrawal functions.

🚀 Pakistani Authorities Dismantle $60 Million Cryptocurrency Scam Network

According to PANews, Pakistani authorities have dismantled a transnational cryptocurrency investment scam network in Karachi, involving approximately $60 million. The raid resulted in the seizure of 37 computers, 40 mobile phones, over 10,000 international SIM cards, and six illegal payment gateway devices. The scam group employed social media and instant messaging tools for long-term social engineering, posing as traders or 'insiders' to lure victims into fake cryptocurrency and forex trading platforms, promising high returns.

Victims were gradually deceived into investing funds, and when their investments approached $5,000, the scammers demanded additional fees under the guise of taxes, withdrawal charges, or account verification fees. After payment, victims found their account access frozen and communication completely cut off.

Currently, 22 suspects, including eight foreign nationals, are in custody awaiting trial. The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has launched an investigation under various sections of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act and the Pakistan Penal Code.

🚀 Stolen Cryptocurrency Accounts Average $105 on Dark Web, Report Finds

According to PANews, a report by SecureList reveals that stolen cryptocurrency accounts are being sold on the dark web for an average price of $105. These accounts are typically obtained through phishing attacks, with prices ranging from $60 to $400 depending on factors such as account age, balance, payment method linkage, and two-factor authentication status. The stolen data is primarily leaked from phishing pages via three channels: email, Telegram bots, or uploads to admin panels. Telegram is favored by attackers for its real-time capabilities, disposability, and difficulty in tracing. More organized attacks utilize admin panel frameworks for real-time statistics, automatic credential verification, and data management.

The stolen data, which includes exchange login information, wallet access, and fiat currency accounts, is either sold immediately or enters a resale pipeline. Middlemen purchase the data in bulk, verify and organize it, and then resell it on dark web forums or Telegram channels to fraudsters. The report highlights that from January to September 2025, 88.5% of phishing attacks targeted account credential theft.
