According to Odaily, Bitcoin Layer 2 development company Alpen Labs has introduced a new platform called 'Strata,' built using ZK rollup technology. Strata is the result of two years of development by Alpen Labs. In its initial phase, Strata will function as a ZK rollup on Bitcoin, featuring a trust-minimized BitVM bridge. In the long term, Strata aims to become a settlement layer for ZK proofs directly on Bitcoin.
Earlier in April, Alpen Labs announced the completion of a $10.6 million funding round led by Ribbit Capital, with participation from Castle Island Ventures, Robot Ventures, and Axiom Capital. According to Foresight News, the on-chain ZKP verification infrastructure based on BitVM2 and the Babylon ecosystem infrastructure project Fiamma have joined the BitVM Alliance. This alliance, organized by BitVM founder and core developer Robin Linus, was internally established a month ago. The alliance includes five teams: Fiamma, Zerosync, Element Labs, Citrea, and Strata (incubated by Alpen Labs). These teams are all core contributors to the BitVM code.
