According to Odaily, experienced Bitcoin developer 'Calle' has issued a security alert to operators of nodes running older versions of Lightning Network Daemon (LND) 0.18.5 or LITD 0.14.1 software. The vulnerability is linked to how LND processes the description field of lightning invoices, potentially allowing hackers to remotely manipulate payment statuses and steal funds. Satoshi Labs co-founder Pavol Rusnak also highlighted this issue, urging Lightning Network users to promptly update their node software. The newly released versions, LND 0.18.5 and LITD 0.14.1, address this remote threat. It is important to note that LND 0.18.5 was only released last week, leaving many LND nodes outdated and vulnerable. As of the report's release, there are hundreds or possibly thousands of outdated LND nodes. Historically, LND has been the preferred software for most Lightning node operators.#Bitcoin #LightningNetwork #SecurityAlert #NodeSoftware #Hackers #Vulnerability #Update #SatoshiLabs #Funds #LND

According to PANews, SatoshiLabs founder Alena Vranova has raised concerns about the increasing incidents of wrench attacks, personal assaults, and kidnappings targeting Bitcoin and cryptocurrency holders. Vranova noted that at least one Bitcoin holder worldwide is kidnapped, tortured, or extorted weekly, sometimes facing even more severe consequences.
She emphasized that even small-scale cryptocurrency investors could become targets for violent criminals. "It may seem like an issue only for Bitcoin OG investors, but that's not the case. We've seen kidnappings for as little as $6,000 worth of cryptocurrency and even murders for $50,000 worth," Vranova stated. She further highlighted that over 80 million Bitcoin holders and cryptocurrency users have had their personal information leaked online, with 2.2 million records including home addresses.
Vranova added that these attacks are correlated with Bitcoin prices, with an increase in frequency during bull markets.#Bitcoin #cryptocurrency #SatoshiLabs #wrenchattacks #kidnapping #security #investors #AlenaVranova #bullmarket #personalinformation #BTC
