🚀 NFT Sales Surpass Previous Year With Over $1 Billion Increase

According to PANews, the NFT market concluded the year on a strong note, with digital collectible sales in 2023 surpassing previous records by over $1 billion. On December 31, data from NFT tracking platform CryptoSlam revealed that blockchain-based digital collectible sales in 2024 reached $8.83 billion. This figure exceeds the 2023 sales total of approximately $8.7 billion, marking a year-over-year increase of 1.1%.

Ethereum continues to lead as the highest-grossing blockchain in NFT history, with sales totaling $44.9 billion. Solana follows with $6.1 billion in sales, while Bitcoin-based NFTs have accumulated $4.9 billion in total sales.

In December, NFT sales amounted to $877 million, making it the fifth-best performing month of 2024. The increase in December sales was driven by a rise in Ethereum-based NFT transactions, which reached $482 million for the month. Bitcoin-based NFT sales totaled $172 million, and Solana-based NFTs recorded $100 million in sales for December.

Despite the increase in NFT sales, the figures for this year remain significantly lower than those from 2021 to 2022. In 2021, NFT sales concluded the year at $15.7 billion, which is 43.9% higher than the 2024 record. In 2022, sales reached $23.7 billion, surpassing this year's record by 62.8%.
