🚀 Nyse Arca To Extend Trading Hours To 22 Hours Daily

According to PANews, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) plans to extend the trading hours of its NYSE Arca stock exchange to 22 hours a day. This change, part of the Intercontinental Exchange, will see the all-electronic trading platform operate from 1:30 AM to 11:30 PM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.

Kevin Tyrrell, Head of Market Operations at NYSE, stated that extending U.S. stock trading hours to 22 hours daily and five days a week highlights the strength of the U.S. capital markets and the growing global demand for their listed securities. He also mentioned that NYSE would seek support from the Securities Information Processor for the expanded trading hours. These changes will be accompanied by updates to regulatory rules, and NYSE plans to submit an updated framework to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

🚀 SEC Advances Cryptocurrency Accounting Rules with New Stablecoin Guidance

According to BlockBeats, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued new staff guidance indicating that certain stablecoins may be treated as cash equivalents. This development comes as the SEC continues to formulate regulatory rules for crypto securities.

Under the leadership of SEC Chairman Paul Atkins, the commission is gradually reversing some stringent policies, including previous accounting guidance that was seen as a barrier for traditional lending institutions entering the crypto market.

The latest guidance specifies that holding certain dollar-pegged stablecoins, which have guaranteed redemption rights and are anchored to another asset class, can be classified as cash equivalents. This move is part of the SEC's broader efforts to integrate cryptocurrency into existing financial frameworks.
