Modi emphasized that, in addition to digital technology, the two countries will enhance collaboration in semiconductors, healthcare, and food security. Malaysia ranks as the sixth-largest semiconductor exporter globally, with the industry accounting for approximately 25% of its GDP, particularly excelling in downstream packaging and testing. Prior to the summit, India's Ministry of External Affairs praised Malaysia's 30 to 40 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, noting its strong foundational capabilities. This expertise has attracted Indian companies, including Tata Electronics, to explore research and development and manufacturing opportunities in Malaysia.
