According to Odaily, aerospace startup Vast Space, founded by Ripple co-founder Jed McCaleb, has announced its plans for a successor to the International Space Station (ISS). The company joins the ranks of other space ventures, including Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin, in this ambitious endeavor. The new station, named 'Haven-2,' is designed to serve as a dedicated laboratory in low Earth orbit, facilitating microgravity research for tourists and acting as a destination for astronauts sent by NASA's international partners.
Vast Space aims to have the first module of 'Haven-2' launched and fully operational by 2028, ahead of the ISS's planned retirement and deorbiting in 2031. Max Haot, CEO of Vast Space, emphasized the company's aggressive timeline and strategy as a means to disrupt the industry and secure a competitive edge.#VastSpace #InternationalSpaceStation #Haven2 #SpaceExploration #NASA #Aerospace #MicrogravityResearch #SpaceTourism #JedMcCaleb #BlueOrigin #LowEarthOrbit #SpaceIndustry
