🚀 Crypto Industry Poised to Surpass 2021 Funding Record, Says Pantera Capital

According to PANews, Pantera Capital's managing partner, Paul Veradittakit, has released a report on the current state of crypto venture capital, indicating that the crypto industry is on track to surpass the 2021 funding record of $29.17 billion. So far this year, crypto companies have raised over $16 billion, exceeding the total transaction volume for the entire year of 2024.

Veradittakit describes this year's funding surge as an "industry transformation driven by record-breaking mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and IPO activities." He noted that 2024 saw a record high in M&A transactions, with over 100 deals completed, totaling $1.73 billion. The number of transactions in 2025 is expected to surpass those of 2024. From January to July this year, 76 deals have been completed, amounting to $6.23 billion, which is 3.6 times the total transaction volume of 2024. If the current pace continues, the total number of transactions for the year could reach 130.

🚀 Web3 Startups Secure Record Venture Capital in 2025

According to PANews, a recent report by Outlier Ventures reveals that Web3 startups raised $9.6 billion in venture capital during the second quarter of 2025, marking the second-largest quarterly funding record despite the lowest number of funding rounds in two years. This trend indicates a maturing market where investors are channeling more funds into fewer projects, shifting from hype-driven activities to precise, sustainability-focused investments. Investors are increasingly favoring infrastructure and established teams over scale.

Series A funding saw a strong rebound, with the median funding amount climbing to $17.6 million, the highest in over two years. Seed funding also experienced growth, with the median amount rising to $6.6 million. Infrastructure projects, such as validator liquidity, rollups, and computing networks, attracted the majority of the funds, with median funding sizes ranging from $70 million to $112 million.
