TON to Rebrand Native Currency as Gram

TON’s native currency is being renamed to Gram, its original name from the first TON white paper.

The transition is expected to take around 3 weeks.

Among the various news, Ton is not growing, but the former $GRAM, now renamed $GRM.

It should also be noted that after renaming $TON to $GRAM, all services will also be renamed: Gram Diamonds, Gram Place, GramScan, GramViewer.

The on-chain votes for the rebranding of Toncoin → Gram are underway, and the numbers speak clearly:

✅ For (Favorable): 969 votes — 80.77% of the weight (1.93M TON)
❌ Against (Opposed): 324 votes — 19.11% (456.7K TON)
🔴 Abstain: 25 votes — 0.12% (2.82K TON)

With 6 days left until the end of the vote, the majority of the community seems to want to return to its origins: Gram was indeed the original name of the Telegram project before the clashes with the SEC in 2018.
