Are you a doctor, nurse, laboratory scientist, or support staff with a high level of exposure to suspected or confirmed cases of #diphtheria?

#TakeResponsibility to get the anti-diphtheria vaccine to limit your risk of getting infected.

#StaySafeStayHealthy
People of all age groups who come in contact with the urine, faeces, saliva, or blood of rats or infected persons are at risk of getting infected with #LassaFever.

#TakeResponsibility
🪤Use traps, rat gums to get rid of rats in the house
👐🏽Do not touch rats, dead or alive with your bare hands
🐀Avoid eating food/fruits eaten by rats
#Diphtheria spreads easily between people.

Individuals who have come in close contact with a confirmed case of #diphtheria should report early to the nearest healthcare facility for prompt treatment.

Early reporting and treatment save lives.
#TakeResponsibility

If you observe any of these signs and symptoms, visit a healthcare facility for an accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Ensure you take extra precautionary measures while visiting to prevent the risk of spread.
#AntimicrobialResistance is when medicines like #antimalarials, tetracycline, septrin, and amoxicillin no longer treat diseases they cured previously.

Using antimicrobials "anyhow " is making the treatment of common infections more difficult.

Let us work together to save medicines.

#BeAntimicrobialsAware
Symptoms of #diphtheria include fever, runny nose, sore throat, cough, red eyes, swollen neck & in severe cases, a thick grey/white patch at the back of the throat with difficulty breathing

If you notice any of these symptoms, visit a health facility close to you for diagnosis & treatment

Humans are continually faced with an increasing number of diseases that are gotten from animals through the environment or direct contact with the animals.

These diseases are called zoonotic diseases and need to be tackled using a One Health approach.

#OneHealthNigeria
Ensuring food safety is key in the prevention of infectious diseases like #LassaFever.

Store food in tightly closed containers and ensure proper hygiene in the preparation and consumption of food.

#TakeResponsibility
Recent global health events including the #COVID19 pandemic and #mpox outbreak, are examples of diseases emerging as a result of close contact between animals and people.

#OneHealth approach recognises the close connection between the health of people, animals, and the environment and the role this connection plays in the spread of diseases.
