Hand hygiene is one of the most effective ways to reduce the spread of infectious diseases like #LassaFever, #COVID19 and #Cholera.

Encourage the practice of regular hand washing with soap and running water among your family and friends to stay healthy.
#CerebrospinalMeningitis (CSM) is an easily transmissible disease with confirmed cases reported all year round in Nigeria.

#LassaFever spreads majorly to humans through direct contact, eating food, or drinking water contaminated with urine, faeces, saliva, or blood of infected rats.

The most common signs and symptoms of #Meningitis include:

➡️High fever
➡️Neck stiffness
➡️Vomiting
➡️Drowsiness
➡️Lack of appetite
➡️Sensitivity to light
➡️Rashes
➡️Seizures

Visit a healthcare facility for immediate attention if you observe any of these symptoms.
Healthcare workers are advised to always be vigilant - lookout for symptoms of #LassaFever, not all fevers are malaria.

Any febrile illness that has not responded to the use of anti-malaria or antibiotics after 48 hrs should raise an index of suspicion for #LF.

➡️a probable/confirmed case of #LassaFever within 21 days of onset of fever
➡️body fluids/tissues of a patient with a febrile illness, symptoms & signs suggestive of #LF
