#Lassafever occurs throughout the year, but more cases are recorded during the dry season i.e., November-May

Healthcare workers are urged to maintain a high index of suspicion for #LF.

Be vigilant & lookout for symptoms of #LF, not all fevers are malaria.

Symptoms of #Cholera include:

➡️Profuse watery stool
➡️Nausea
➡️Vomiting
➡️Weakness

Recent travellers to/through Uganda within the past 21 days & are experiencing symptoms associated with #Ebola should call their state ministry of health or 6232 for accurate diagnosis.

DO NOT visit health facilities to avoid the risk of spread through public/private transport.

To prevent the spread of #cholera, Nigerians are urged to:

🚫STOP defaecating in water sources
Keep their environments clean
Drink or use water that is boiled and stored safely
Ensure proper clearing of sewage
Wash hands regularly with soap and running water
Let us all work together to reduce the risk of #LassaFever infection and spread in our communities.

🚫Eliminate rats in homes & communities using rat traps
🚫Block all holes in your house to prevent the entry of rats

Make your water and food safe:
Drink only water from safe sources

Eat thoroughly cooked foods
Wash fruits & vegetables properly with clean water
Home-based care is to be provided to #COVID19 patients with mild symptoms on the advice of assigned & trained health workers

Patients & caregivers must adhere strictly to the home-based isolation criteria & other infection prevention & control measures

Home-based care refers to when a laboratory-confirmed #COVID19 patient is provided with required medical care at home.

Care is provided by an assigned caregiver who may be a family member, a friend, or an identified person.

Avoid contact with sick/dead animals
Cook all animal meats & products properly before eating
Wash hands after handling animals & caring for/visiting sick people
Avoid close/skin-to-skin contact with infected persons or persons showing symptoms
#AntimicrobialResistance is when medicines like #antimalarials, tetracycline, septrin,
Amoxycillin no longer treat diseases they cure previously.
