Letture per la domenica

Se c'è una cosa che definisce Paul Graham, è essere non convenzionale. Una persona all'apparenza molto semplice, un programmatore diventato imprenditore che ha creato Y Combinator, cioè uno dei più importanti incubatori (il cui presidente è stato fino a poco tempo fa Sam Altman). Soprattutto, è un autore: ha scritto un libro fantastico (Hackers and Painters) che ho sempre davanti alla mia scrivania (anche adesso) e una tonnellata di saggi su un vecchio sito tutto fatto con html, molto minimalista.

Le sue idee non sono sempre "buone", anche perché negli anni ha scritto veramente tanto e la qualità cambia ovviamente. Però questo discorso per la Oxford Union su come si possa diventare miliardari in maniera etica (buona parte della politica sostiene che non sia possibile guadagnare così tanti soldi senza fare qualcosa di male) è molto interessante. Parziale, furbo, in qualche modo sbagliato, ma interessante.

Si sta parlando parecchio di Brexit perché i britannici sono nelle peste e ricorre l'anniversario della loro uscita dall'Unione europea. A parte che secondo me questao è stato un bene per le dinamiche interne dell'Unione, per quanto riguarda il senso storico di come stanno andando le cose nel Regno Unito, questo articolo dell'Economist fa un'ottima sintesi.
