According to Odaily, Qi An Xin Group has reported that the recent large-scale attack on the X platform and the attack on DeepSeek during the Spring Festival were orchestrated by the same primary botnet, identified as a professional attacker. The timing of the attack coincided precisely with the X platform's downtime, leading to three instances of platform failure due to the scale and intensity of the assault.
Qi An Xin's Xlab conducted an in-depth analysis of the attack, revealing key information. Firstly, the botnet used in the attack is a Mirai variant known as RapperBot, which is the same group responsible for the attack on DeepSeek during the 2025 Spring Festival. Secondly, the attack timing matched the X platform's downtime. Thirdly, the botnet offers paid attack services, earning the label of a 'professional attacker.'
Previously, Elon Musk stated that X is undergoing a significant cyberattack, which is still ongoing. He noted that while attacks occur daily, this particular assault involved substantial resources, possibly indicating the involvement of a large coordinated organization or a nation.
