Big thanks to the TON Foundation team for giving us the chance to share Hipo’s story and vision for the future. Here’s what we covered:

🔹 How it started
We spoke about how our journey started — inspired by the freedom Bitcoin brought to the world, and as long-time fans of Telegram’s stance on defending freedom of speech, we were naturally drawn to TON, which they initiated and now support.

🔹 Our journey
We shared our experience participating in several Hack-a-TON events, which ultimately led us to build Hipo as a liquid staking protocol. Security has always been our top priority — Hipo is fully open-source and one of the most security-audited protocols in the TON ecosystem.

🔹 Community first
We believe growth only happens with the community. And by “community,” we mean informed, responsible, long-term members who share the vision of building together.
To make this possible, we created Hipo Club and HPO — our governance and profit-sharing token. Through Hipo Club, members can learn about DeFi, earn HPO at a discount, and become long-term holders.

🔹 Ownership & revenue sharing
HPO holders are co-owners of the Hipo protocol. They vote on critical decisions through our DAO, and now, with our new profit-sharing feature, they also receive a share of Hipo’s revenue. The more we grow together, the more everyone benefits.

🔹 How can TON win in DeFi?
We then opened a bigger question for discussion:

How can TON win the competition, lead in DeFi, and grow?

We explained that assuming TON has no competition is a mistake. Having Telegram’s 1B+ users and great technology is not a guaranteed strength — it’s an opportunity. If we don’t use it, another social network or blockchain could take that position.

The key, in our view, is to create real, valuable use cases. To do that, TON must attract innovative and talented teams — which means providing strong infrastructure, removing barriers, and avoiding monopolies or exclusive partnerships.

For example, Tonkeeper is a key gateway for TON users. If it only lists one liquid staking protocol, it limits choice and harms the ecosystem. It’s like if the App Store refused to list Telegram and only worked with WhatsApp — Telegram might never have had the chance to grow into what it is today.

🔹 Our message
We are strong believers in TON’s potential, but to reach it, we must address these challenges. Critical services like Tonkeeper should remain open to all qualified projects to encourage healthy competition and innovation.
